The jousts were awesome! We caught at least one joust every day we were there. The action was spectacular. The hits were massive. The interaction with the audience and each other was great, and usually funny as well.
Here is a shot of the stage from which the king viewed the
jousting.
On the final day, my daughter and I got to watch from the stage
on the right side of the picture.
The battle was pretty impressive when it is that up-close and
personal. Still, over-all, I think it is
more entertaining from the bleachers. You can here what the
knights are saying a whole lot better.
Left is Sir William who rode the horse with the red and gold,
center is Sir Lancelot who rode the horse with the red and
silver,
right Sir Matthew who rode the horse with blue and silver.
The action on the field was fast paced and
exciting. Usually Lancelot and Matthew would do the sword passes,
then Lancelot and William would do the lance passes. After that
it was a 2 on 1 fight with Lancelot against the other two. Then
around week 4 or 5, Sir Collin joined the group as well (above,
lower left). Then things changed up a little. They also added in
a couple of squires to the act. Then things really got active.
Below, right. Sir William holds down Sir Lancelot while Sir
Matthew prepares to jump off his horse and run Lancelot through
with his drawn sword.
