09/16/2011 - First Niagara Pavilion in Burgettstown PA
Avenged Sevenfold
They came out with a bang, and for the
rest of the night, they rocked our faces off!
Where TDG was about working the crowd, and building off that,
with a lot of give-and-take. A7x just came out and hammered you
with it! They had the attitude of we're A7X and we are going to
rock you weather you want us to or not.
Between the songs, their attitude on stage, and the lights and
pyro, they just blew the crowd away.
Awesome stage set. Lots (and I mean a lot) of pyro.
If you want an idea of just how much pyro I am talking about,
check out this vid from YouTube.
Also, check out the one at the very bottom of this page to see
their pyro finale at the end of the show.
One of the cool things about the show, were the mix of songs. I
guess they had online voting for each show on what the setlist
would be. So they didn't know how well it would blend with so
much old and new mixed together.
(one weird quirk that I noticed, I would have had the same
setlist regarless of going to this show, or the one at Blossom
the following week)
It was a wild ride from the opening blast
of Nightmare, the the closing barrage when they played some riffs
for the giant circle pit out on the lawn.
They also hit the right volume. Loud, but not so loud as to
distort the sound.
You could feel the bass reverberating through you on songs like
scream. You not only heard the music, but felt it as well. And
where I was, you could really feel the heat from they pyro. I can
imagine what it was like closer to the stage.
It was even better than the first time I saw them back in 09.
