This was a show the wife
wanted to see. As such I didn't have a lot to say about it.
Never heard the group, not a fan of the style, but hey Sheryl
Crow was on the bill, so I figured it would be all bad.
Considering the
circumstances, I wasn't burning a vacation day for this. So I had
to run home, grab the wife and hit the road.
Unfortunatly we still ran into rush hour traffic on the way to
the show. Leading us to completely miss the opening act.
But it did get us to our seats just before Crow started her set.
It was pretty good. She
didn't play all the songs I had hoped she would, but there were
several I had been looking forward too.
She also wasn't really rocking out, but that was kind of to be
expected. It sounded good, and was really enjoyable.
Here is a partial setlist. Couldn't remember a couple of the
songs performed.

After a trip to the lawn for a smoke and a drink,
it was time for the headliner.
I'd never heard Rascal Flatts before, and knew very little about
them. I know that my daughter, who did like them, wasn't
impressed when she saw them.
I thought the show was pretty good myself. Cool stuff on the
video screens. Lots of pyro and smoke. The tunes weren't bad, and
the band seemed
to be having fun. They would go out into the crowd in the pit and
take some selfies with fan's phones.
There were also several cool moments that made me happy.
Sheryl Crow coming back out and doing a couple songs with the
band. Especially 'Picture'
And I was blown away when they came out with 'Kickstart My Heart'
for the encore.
They had the crowd into it. Perfect mix of music and chatting up
the crowd. And they really knew their audience. There were plenty
of
shout-outs to Ohio State Buckeyes, which the crowd ate up.
With all that said, I can see where some actual fans might not
care for the performance. I could tell the singer hit some sour
notes here and there.
Also seemed like his timing may have been off in a few places.
But since I wasn't invested in the songs already, these things
didn't bother me.

All-in-all it was a pretty good time. It was good
to get out to a show, even if it wasn't the kind of show I
normally hit.
Live music is live music, especially when performed reasonably
well, and with a lot of heart.
I will say, the eye candy wasn't bad either. There were tons of
girls everywhere. Though I do have to say I don't care much for
country audiences.
People were constantly going back-and-forth from their seats, to
their seats. In front of me, behind me, in our row. It was really
annoying.
I thought the reason you pay that much to go to a concert, was to
actually watch the concert.
Pictures and videos I took can be found on this
page.
