UPDATED 11/29/10

I saw this bad boy on the Clubhouse shortly before WF.
Then I drooled over it all weekend long at WF08.
Sadly, I didn't have the money to buy the darn thing
though.
Luckily, shortly after WF I came into some money, and
Blake offered me a nice deal on the kit as well.
So, now I actually own one of these beauties.

Took a couple shots to show the actually size of this
cute little beastie.

The model consists of 16 pieces.
All well cast, and nicely detailed.
The kit is based off one of the deleted scenes of the new
King Kong movie, though I just love it because it is a
cool dino sculpt. But it does come with a small figure to
go on the base, thoguh I doubt I will be using it.

It starts with a nicely detailed base.
Lots of fun textures to work with.

The body is well crafted, and has a cool pit-bullish-ness
to it. With the smaller hind quarters and the large bulky
shoulders, and almost humped back quality to it's stance.
Which really makes sence with the large head-gear this
beast carts around with it.
Makes it look very formidable and intimidating.

The rest of the pieces complete the main parts.
The 2 legs, the tail, and the spikes.
The sculpting job on this is just magnificent.
From the great scale details all over the kit. To the
subtle folds of skin.
The tone of the underlying musculatur.
And all captured in a really sweet casting.
From what I have seen in my initial examinations, there
is going to be very littly clean-up to do, other than on
the spikes. A little grinding on the arm and tail joints
from where the pour sprues were.
But all that is minimal and completely expected on a kit.
Can't wait to get this one on the bench. It should
practically build itself, and I can move right into
slinging paint on this bad boy.
