![]() ![]() Found a nice blue spray paint for this baby. Originally I was thinking a bright blue (like a kid's toy) with black patterning. After I saw this color I changed my mind. Now I am thinking a dark brown paterning. The kit won't be quite as bright as I originally envisioned, but I think this will be a bit more realistic looking. And I think leaving the underbelly the primer gray is a nice compliment to this shade of blue. |
![]() ![]() Now I have the pattern blocked in. Next I need to go back in and detail paint it to make sure that it follows the scales. Otherwise it won't look natural, or organinc. |
![]() Not much. Gave the kit a black wash to bring out the details. Started work on the inside of the mouth, but no pics yet. new |
![]() Ok/ A little lesson learned here. I had just hte right shade of purple that I wanted to use for a highlight color. Unfortunately, that paint also happend to be a pearlescent paint. Looked great on the kit. Untill I hit it with a flat coat. Yeah, it flattened out the gloss, but the paint was still shiny and reflective. Not what I wanted. (will file that away for futuer reference. Both for avoiding it, and for using it) Now I am mixing a color close to what I wanted, and painting over that shiny stuff. Hope it doesn't set me back too far. I thought I was almost done. |
