Later walking Gamera kits used a new wind up motor that did not require a lot of space for the untightened spring. As you can see in the first edition, a slot is cut in the bottom of Gamera's shell to allow the untightened spring to poke out. .

The first edition Nitto kits are referred to as the "long box" or "white box" series (1966-1971).
Followed by this "yellow box"(1975-1977),
the "blue box"(1978-1979)
and the "red box"(1980) series.
In the early eighties, there was one more release.
