![]() Picked this up at a local expo back at the end of October. I've done one other Gundam, and another similar type kit. So I was familiar with how they go together and such. I figured this time I would actually try to do this one right. By that I mean, do more than just stick it together and maybe put the decals on it. For those that don't know, the kits are molded in color. So, it's real easy to just slap it together. But the results, while quick, are less than satisfying. ![]() This is what this kit can look like, when built right. ![]() This is what it looks like straight from the box with no paint.

![]() Still just a box full of random parts at this point. But I can see progress. ![]() Started some of the detail work. A little black undercoat before I paint the gold trim. A few more nights these parts should start looking better. |
![]() Well, I am still fighting with the darn white. I just cannot get an even coverage! Driving me crazy! I did get the red accents painted on the tops of the feet though. ![]() So, time to move to something else for a bit. From the pic on the box, that circle should be the same as the clear blue. So, I get to try and recreate it. First, a white undercoat. ![]() |
new Well, my first try didn't match too well. This was a straight from the bottle blue pearl. ![]() But, after giving it another coat with the blue darkened it looks close enough for me. |
![]() All this time, while fighting with the white brush painting, I have also stayed busy working on the other bits. ![]() It's finally starting to come together. ![]() Getting even closer.
