Breakfast is Tiffany |

Finally got started on this beauty.
|
Just a little progress here. I dusted the wall with some gray to tone it down and give it the color I basically want. Might end up hitting it with a wash towards the end that could alter the shade a bit, but it is close now. |
Not sure if you can see much progress here. I took a darker flesh color, made it a clear tint, and touched up the shadowed areas of the flesh. Just so they have some kind of color to them.
Well, things didn't go as planned.
|
Started blocking in some of the colors. These aren't the finished colors, but just stomething for me to work up from. I find that I get better results with some things if I work in tranparent layers. |
First pic, you can see where I toned down the red in the bricks, and punched up the blue in the pants. As well as added some yellow to the boards. The second pic, you can see where I am starting to make the boards look realistic, with a very thin coat of wood color. I also started painting some of the zombie clothing. And her belt. |
First thing I needed to do, was hollow out the gun barrel. Being solid just didn't look right. So, thanks to some tips on the Clubhouse I used an exacto knife and carved out the end of the barrel. On to painting it. First the metal parts. I used a mix of gunmetla gray, a drop of black, and 2 drops of blue. I think it is pretty close. |
A little more progress. The gun is shaping up nicely. I gave it a light yellow basecoat, then went over it with a very thin chocolate brown. On the main piece, I just hit the planks with a brown watercolor. I think they are just about done now. |
Ok, colored in the zombies a bit. At least their cloths and hair. Also did Tiffany's hair. Started out with yellow, then intended to go back over it with brown. but changed my mind. I realized there is already a lot of brown in here, and didn't want to over do it. So, I went with more of a redish-brown to give her a stawberry-blonde look. |
Now, a little zombie skin. Decided to go with a purple-ish hue. Also darkened up the coat on the bottom zombie. Added a few touches of pastels to the abdomen, breasts, and arms / hands. |
And some preliminary work on the main zombie. I decided on a green sweatshirt for him. To help keep this page a little shorter, I have moved all the zombie pics to their own page. If you want to see the progress on it, check here (updated 4/27/10). |
A little work on the eyes. Think I have them where I want them, and the right size. Will give it a couple days and see what I think though. |
Ok, here it is. All together. Note to self, next time, before I start painting, fit the pieces together first. I had to do a little grinding here and there to get things lined up just right. Trying to clean that dust off was lots of fun with the painted surface I didn't want to trash.
