WONDERFEST 2004
Thinking Outside the Box
a discussion with Chris White
This was a really cool presentation. Chris showed a whole bunch of slides of some of his work. I had no idea of the variety of things he has done in his career. Logos, game covers, magazine covers, wild life, and of course the Polar Lights box art. Also, in the picture above, you can see one of Chris's latest works. The box art for the Munsters House resin kit that was just put out, and is available on Cult's site.
Here is a funny poster Chris did.
These are some of the game covers he did. Some really interesting
stuff.
There is a really funny story about how Chris got the job of
doing this cover for MAD.
I would try to tell it here, but I really suck at telling
stories.
Now for the stuff you have been waiting
for. Some of the concept work Chris has done for Polar Lights.
Mind you these are just ideas. There was never any firm idea to
do these as kits. It was just a way for PL to develope ideas and
see if there were any possibilities for them. So don't go bugging
Polar Lights about when these are going to be coming out, because
they aren't. They never got any farther than ideas.
A cool idea for a kit to go with the Robbie the Robot.
Some box artwork mock-ups for another idea that just
didn't go anywhere
This one is one Chris's ideas for a Invisible Man kit. Wish PL
would have ran with this idea. I like everything about it. The
pose, the cluttered base and shelves. Would make for a really
cool kit with lots of customizing options.
