This is the 3rd of these kits that I have owned. The first one that I actually get to build though.
The other 2 are still in the house, they were just claimed by my daughter.
The first one, she did many years ago.
So I got another one. Well, before I got to it, my daughter decided she wanted to try the kit again, to see how much better she could do on it now.
Well, I got another one this year at WF. I'm starting on it now, before she claims this one too!

Hopefully nothing goes horribly wrong with this one.
I'm going to try reposing it.
I love the texture and the detail on the kit, but the pose is soooo static and boring.

Started assembly on it. Had to clamp the heck out of it to close up the gaps in the seams.

Well, I got the body and the tail repositioned.
Tail has been curled to the left and also upwards.
The body has been twisted to the left, and angled slightly downward.
{I've added some pics of my daughter's kit as a comparison)
I had a little bit of colapsing in the torso when I twisted it, but I was already resigned to that anyway.
I'll just fill that with puttyand redetail it.

So far, I am very pleased with the drastic change just a little bit of repositioning has made

Still plugging away. Working on the seams and joints right now.

Lots of work to do on the back.

Got the legs glued on. Now I am working on those joints.

Well, this is what it looks like after the first round of putty work.
I still need to do some clean-up on it. Knock off some of the hard edges with the dremel, files, and sandpaper.

The leg joints are done now. Moved on to getting the arms on now.
Of course they don't fit well now, because of the repositioning I have done.
Got them where I want them, now I just have to putty up the joints.

Ok, here is a look at the initial putty work on the arm attachement.
Not too bad, but a little touching up to do.
Look at the upper left pic. You can just see a little flat area on the inside of the elbow, and the texture doesn't quite match in the shoulder area above it.
And in the lower middle pic, you can see a rough patch in the front of the armpit.

I am happy about this though.
Can you tell which segment was filled out with putty because it became flattened during repostioning?
Lindberg Godzilla
A little more work to do on the tail

And the big issue.
Where the chest area colapsed a bit during repose.
Think I am just going to fill the whole area with putty and sculpt it.
Then.
Just when I'm thinking I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I am reminded that I still have this to work on.
Lindberg Godzilla
34 back fins.
All of which will need the parting lines cleaned up.
Then I will have to come up with a system to mount each one for priming and painting.
And still keep them in order for assembly.

Lindberg Godzilla
Less than 10 left to go. It's been slow going, because there is a lot of flash to clean up on every one of these.

Well, the build portion of this is now done.
