| This is the 3rd of these kits that I
have owned. The first one that I actually get to build
though. The other 2 are still in the house, they were just claimed by my daughter. The first one, she did many years ago. So I got another one. Well, before I got to it, my daughter decided she wanted to try the kit again, to see how much better she could do on it now. Well, I got another one this year at WF. I'm starting on it now, before she claims this one too! . |
![]() The building is done, and now it is time to move on to painting this beast. |
![]() Not much yet. I primed it black to get me started. Then dusted it with a dark grey to give me some sense of where the light would be hitting it. |
![]() Coming along. About 3 drybrushing sesions in now. Next will be sealing it, then giving it a nice dark wash. Might even end up doing 2 washes. Then a couple more drybrush sesions just to hit the very highest areas. |
![]() ![]() After a black wash then a little light blue dryfrushing on the spines. |
![]() ![]() Light gray drybrushing, and just a bit of spot washes with more black. Just to highlight things a bit better. Next up will be putting all those spines on, and a very light white drybrushing. |
![]() All the back plates are finally in place. Only took like 5 hours to put them all in. What a pain. Had to clean all the super glue off each plate after I took it off the toothpick. Also had to clean out the hole it went in, and in some cases open the hole up more. Thank to them distorting when I reposed the kit. |
![]() Now some pastel work on the claws, and starting on the eyes. new |
![]() Eyes are done, and I have the teeth in the mouth. Nails are done too. Now I just have to touch up the back plates. Then dulcote, then gloss the eyes,, claws and mouth. |
