Here is my latest addition to the bench.
A little styrene godzilla kit.
Just started gluing it up last night. Snapped this pic, so you can see just how big the kit is.

I decided to paint the inside of the mouth before I put the body together.
Which is what I just did last night. Now I just have to put the arms, legs, and tail on it.

Ol. The assembly is done. And you can see just how big the kit is.

I chose to put the arms in a fairly classic pose. Not real animated, but also kind of iconic.

One problem though.
Take a look at the area where the back fins go.
Completely blank. That is definitely not going to do at all.

So, here's what I did.
I took the fins back off (they were only in there for a 'dry fit' anyway)
Laid in some putty on the edges. Put the fins back in.
Then added a little more putty between them. Then I textured it.

I wanted to mention the system this kit uses to make sure you orient the fins properly.
The pegs, on the underside of the fins, are offset.
So, if you try to put the fins in rotated the wrong way, they are way too far to one side.
Pretty neat.
Now if they would have just used some of that inovative engineering to actually put some textrue anywhere near a seam.
If you look at the pics, the body, arms, and legs, are completely smooth on the edges.
Going to have my work cut out for me re-texturing all that.

First primer coat.
Shows me just how much work I have left to go.
Leg, arm, tail, foot, and hand joints.
As well as the seams.

The seam and texture work is moving along.
It's looking better, but it still has a ways to go right now.
Maybe about 50% done in this phase.

Well, the building portion is done now
