Atlantis 2011
AtlantisAtlantis
October 2010 Atlantis started talking about the possibility.
November 2010 they said they were doing it. Limited to 1500.
Originally they used this artwork for advertising.

Atlantis
Which I found kind of cool.
But in February of 2011 Atlantis sent out a press release that they were
partnering with Dencomm and using the prehistoric scenes name.
And revealing this artwork.
Atlantis
Shortly after that, this was seen at Toy Fair 2011

Atlantis

By mid-March I had my preorder sitting in my house.

Here is what it all looks like

Note the plastic color. Bottom - Atlantis. Top - Aurora

Note the missing pin. This was a production error the affected the entire run.

As you can see, the box is smaller than any other box the kit has come in so far.
See this page for more comparison shots of the Atlantis and JCPenny box.

For those of you really interested in how it's packed.
