This kit went together pretty easily.
No major problems with seams. Didn't have to use very
much putty either. One thing to take into
consideration. This model is very head-heavy. I would suggest adding some weight to the tail during assembly. I wish that I had known that when I put mine together. I have done a couple of repairs to the head and lower jaw because of this falling over. I ended up adding some weight to the base, which was kinda tricky. As you can see in the pictures, the base is not very thick. I added the texture to the base also. Out of the box, the base is smooth and very plain. I mixed some baking powder with my paint and brushed it on. Painting this model was fun also. The kit has a lot of texture, which made it perfect for my first attempt at washes and dry-brushing. As far as paint scheme, I just followed the box art. Just wanted to add that I entered this model in the Polar Lights Summer Heat contest. I didn't win, but I did get beat by some nice kits. Probably would have helped if I had some better pictures. It was fun to enter and compete though. I would definitely do it again. |
