Here is a look at the build process on this one.

I've been wanting to build another one of these, with a different color scheme.
This one is going to be dark on top and bit lighter on the bottom.
I also want to get away from ivory/white spikes. So I am going with gray.
Dark gray shell. The detail parts are ochre for now, but will get coated with ivory next, and then pastels.

First, some off-white over that ochre. (top)
Then some purple pastels over that (right)

Now I need to do some touch-ups to clean things up a bit.

Then I can start working on the spikes.

A quick look at the base so far.
click for larger image Well, the spikes are almost done now.
A lot more work than I thought at first.
I forget just how many of them there are to paint.
And since each one got
white, light gray, not-so-light gray, med gray, and dark gray
That was a lot of painting.
