Arachnarok Spider |
|
The one I am working on now, was a build-up I got cheap. It was built, and primed black already. I broke off all the stuff on his back and gave it to a friend at work. Cleaned that up, and pinned all the legs because a couple came off in shipping, so I wanted to make sure they stayed on. |
Sprayed it with dark blue. |
Highlighted it with a really light blue |
Gave it a pattern with berry red |
Did some edge highlighting, and highlighted the bumps on his back with a lighter red |
Gave the underside a little attention as well as hit the swollen areas around the back spikes with a midnight blue. |
Blocking in all the spikes on this beauty. Man, there are a lot of them. |
Finally got them all blocked in and cleaned up. |
Tried using a blue tone to blend the spikes more. Didn't work very well. Will have to try some pastels next. |
Gave his fangs a bit of venomous color. |
Pastel time! Photo on the left is the first pass with dark blue pastel. Worked really well, but I wanted even deeper color. So the photo on the right is after the second pass. |
new Gave the base of the spikes a bit of a glaze of the blue base color to tie things in better. |
Time for the eyes. Used a metalic black (hence the reason for the silver basecoat) Also cleaned up the fangs a little. |
A little gloss, and things are done enough to take him to WF. Where he earned a merit! And that is it for now. But this kit is not truly finished yet. Next I will tackle the base for him. After that, once I know exactly how he is going to sit, I will go back over him and highlight appropriately. Then maybe add some webs and such. So, stay tuned for the next chapter in this adventure. |
