Also have the base coat done on the base. Started with a light brown. Then a dark green. Then a mossy green over that. |
Take a few minutes and really look at these pictures. Note the insane amount of detail that Blake put into this base. I spent hours just painting this. Doing the browns for the actual dirt. Then various greens for the different leaves and vines. Then going back and detailing them. And I'm still not done. Now I have to go back and really detail the details. |
![]() Wow! It's been a while. And I didn't realize that I never really took any pics of this painted last year. I had gone with a very light color scheme. Very light gray, with an almost white between the scales. A light blue underside Then I used pastels for some highlights and shading. I didn't like the way it turned out, so I stopped working on it. Now I am back. Going with a darker scale color. But keeping the lighters skin color between the scales. This pic is after the first round of drybrushing. I still have some more to do, to even things out. |
