FRIDAY

As with last year, my daughter found something to get me out of the hotel. Her, her boyfriend and I went off for some bourbon tasting We ended up going to 2 distilleries again this year. Much more relaxed doing only 2.

The first stop was Copper & Kings. Nice looking place. Intersting tour. Especially jamming the music in the basement. More brandy than bourbon, but still fun, and tasty. We got to taste 6 different ones and I was kind of feeling it. So I was glad we decided to have lunch there since we had a bit of time before our next one was scheduled. Really good food and fun staff.

Next up was Rabbit Hole Distillery This was a tour and a tasting. Kind of fancy place with a short tour. Saw some interesting things, then we got down to the tasting. Another 6 samples. And just like last year, I found that I seem to prefer ryes over actual bourbon. So when we were looking around the store area I was trying to find a small bottle of their rye. But they only had full 5ths of that, where they had smaller bottles of everything else. Britny and Michael bought some stuff, and as we were heading back to the car Michael handed me a bottle of the rye. Great early birthday present for me. I have enjoyed a bit of it since being home.
